FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - A 47-year-old Fort Wayne woman with a lifetime license forfeiture was sentenced Monday for driving drunk in an October crash.

Erin Keck was sentenced to nine years in prison after pleading guilty to causing serious bodily injury while driving intoxicated, operating a vehicle after forfeiting her license for life and a habitual offender charge. A criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon charged was dismissed per a plea agreement.

Police responded to N. Clinton Street and Parnell Avenue, near Northcrest Shopping Center on Oct. 6 for reports of a crash. A car traveling N. Clinton Street failed to yield while turning left onto Parnell Avenue and collided with a truck, causing the truck’s driver to lose control and hit a pole.

He was in critical condition after the crash.

A breathalyzer test given to Keck had a result of 0.187, according to court records. Police said Keck had a strong odor of alcohol on her breath and was limping due to an injury.

Keck’s history of felony traffic cases goes back more than 20 years. She was found to be a habitual traffic violator in 2004.
